It’s a Beautiful Sight

On February 13, 2021, Utah’s ski resorts started seeing some of the best snow the year graciously dumped our way!

During the months of December and January, the machines were working at every ski resort in the Wasatch Mountain Range. Frantically working to provide them with enough ‘snow’ to build up the meager amount of ‘real’ snow barely covering the ground on the ski runs. Hoping that the resorts could finally open up to the public. Masked of course. Which, please… who isn’t wearing something over their face, as they’re whipping down a mountain into freezing weather. Around thirty degrees of water that just happens to be whipping directing at them. Yep, they’re masked.

But, the ever elusive snow continued to refuse Utah those white crystals. Left some in Las Vegas, St. George, Seattle, even Arizona , but neglected to drop by the Salt Lake Region. Park City, Deer Valley, Alta, Brighton, Canyons, etc. They all felt the squeeze of 2020 like a reoccurring nightmare. Hotels were getting those terrifying phone calls, daily. “Ah, yah. I’ve got a reservation for like, Friday. But, do have any snow yet?” “No, huh, ah, I’m going to need to postpone or yeah, cancel that.” 2021 became a continuation of 2020 November / December. So everyday, the words of the weatherman, disappointed resort owners, skiers and ski boarders, with reports of, “there’s another front coming in, but it looks like it will be missing us, or it’s working it’s way down, or it’s going to miss the higher elevations. Or, we’ll be getting rain instead anything snow…

People were turning off the TV. Worrying and wondering when… when would they see the snow, the piles of shoveled, piled, dirty, sloshy, slushy, “When will spring arrive,” snow. Well, drum role. That cute old rodent, that fat furry pot bellied mole from Michigan and Philadelphia, yah, him; the ground hog. I believe he saw his shadow. Which, correct me, but I believe it means, that there is six more weeks until spring. In Utah that’s when our fabulous SNOW melt begins, because IT BE SNOWING in Utah. At the time of the picture above, 31 inches fell in one night. Get out your skies, the roads are closed due to avalanches, but give it a while, our plows will clear it, and open the roads, “ya all are welcome to enjoy the snow, again.”

Welcome to the greatest snow,
