Why do we blog? I read a friend’s blog this morning and she was answering the same questions. And I’m going to agree with her. She, like myself, is a writer. We blog because we #1) enjoy writing, #2) believe that we have something that is interesting to say and #3) we have a place to do it!
I like to blog as a way to express myself. On this blog site, I concentrate on ‘whas’s up.’ Now that schools back, yeah** hoorah$% I’m eager to return to organized days where there’s a chance for structure. (I’m pretending that everyone is happy) And we are enjoying our friends being there with us again. 2020 blahhh. Although we still need to strongly watch our back… or should I say face. (Stay diligent and concerned with the Covid-19 strain returning and this new Delta spreading.) I really don’t want to be separated and quarantined again. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy my own company, but even I get to be like old fish. I need fresh air and friends after three days.
It’s September! The hot days are slowly easing away. Can I get a ‘hey yeah’… I like this time of year because the trees turn colors, the air smells crispy and there is a brisk chill. Sweater weather, that’s what it’s called. Also have you noticed how the months zip by. 30 days in September and 30 days in November, right? Then there’s three major holidays in a row. Oops, four, I forgot about New Years. That’s next year, though. I’m not ready for that. Give me a minute. I’m still talking about Fall 🙂
Footballs back out on the field, shows are on tv again and so far the world is where it should be. Of course this is America and things around this place change fast and not always good. But, we pray at night, we wake up with a smile and we look forward… always look forward and we’ll enjoy our tomorrows. Yep, that’s why I blog, to just say isn’t this next season a fun one, with crisp leaves beneath our feet, fireplaces burning to provide more heat, (except here in Utah, they are not allowed due to our air quality) and costumes, pumpkins and trick or treat. I’ll be back before then. But have a nice and fine time writing about whas’up as you like.
Isn’t it great? Everyone’s getting vaccinated. The world is getting back on their feet. Restaurants are opening their doors. Kids are back in school and finishing the school year like it in 2019 the way it used to. Graduations are going on again at Universities and Colleges. Yes! Toss that Cap and cry Hallelujah… You deserve it, so do it.
BUT Wait… we are only Getting There, Let’s Not Throw Everything Away. We’re getting there, we are not there, yet!!!
Gone would be one-hundred percent cured. It’s been cornered and we’re approaching it with a lasso, but we haven’t gotten the disease into a secure facility and locked up under key for good.
Yet, a group of parents (I use this word grudgingly) are whining because their little kids must wear masks in school, WHAA. Too sad. For you. Sit next to me without face covering and You’ll Hear it from me, Loud and Clear. You don’t deserve to decide how I live. I won’t give you that right. Go ahead, strike me.
To all the ungrateful parents that are a member of the “See My Smile,” group that acted like a bunch of ill-behaved baboons and rushed up on the members of the school board at a board meeting and were mad because you didn’t get your way. That is just too damn bad. The State Mandate declares: When In School, or any other group setting YOU ARE REQUIRED TO COVER YOUR FACE! Wear your masks.
Wear a mask. Put it on. It doesn’t hurt. No Pain. My child doesn’t care about your smile, they just want to know that you’re healthy, don’t have a cough and that people are more compassionate towards others.
This is the time of year when we sit around the table and give thanks to everyone and everything that we appreciate and lift a glass of cheer. But not this year!
This year, we are all praying for a shot. A perfect cure for the biggest crisis that this world has ever endured. Even wars haven’t taken on the whole globe like this stupid sickness has. Whoever it is we are to accuse, bat, technician, or the cute little turkey in the picture on the left, we all need to wear a mask, keep our six foot of distance and remember to keep our hands clean. Easily the three most important things to do. Do It. These citizens who think that they are being violated need to get the heads out from under the rock. Ignorance doesn’t pass you by. You can and will cause others to die. And frankly if it were up to me, I’d (I’m sorry but) spit in their eye.
If someone tells me that I’m offending them for wearing a mask, they deserve my irritation. I have every right to protect myself and my family. If they hate their own kids, and elderly, that is their too bad.
This is the time to take care of the elderly, the poor, the hungry by giving and if that means simply wear a mask, then do it.
